Recycling is Back in Greenland
RECYCLING IS BACK IN GREENLAND:
Updated 8/21/2020:
The Greenland Recycling Center open these hours starting 8/24/2020:
The Greenland Recycling Center is now open on a reduced schedule.
The facility will be open for citizens to bring their recyclable materials
on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Greenland citizens
may use the facility this Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and April 26,
and each Saturday and Sunday in the month of May. Evaluation and
decisions on future scheduling will be made in late May.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health and the National
Institute of Health, such a schedule will allow isolation or
“quarantine” of any possible presence of COVID-19 for three days.
The isolation of the materials will assure the safety of city staff when
they later process the materials. It will also assure the safety of
citizens using the facility. Safety of our staff and the public is, of
course, our number one responsibility.
Thank you for your patience. We would prefer to have the facility open
more days each week, but this pandemic changes normal practices and
makes these reduced hours necessary.
Thank you, Greenland Citizens, for the incredible job you do sorting the
material you bring for recycling. Remember to practice social distancing
as you use the Recycling Center, and please stay well.
