Minutes of the Greenland City Council July 11, 2016

Meeting called to order at 6pm. Those in attendance: Mayor Groom, Stephanie Sharp, Eric Bryant, Katherine Hudson, Danny Dutton, Lisa Thornton, Bill Yoes, Mark Myers, Justin Reed, Chief Ricker, Danny Wright and various guests.

Motion by Thornton to approve the June minutes, 2nd by Reed. Motion passes 6-0- 1 with Dutton abstaining.

Motion by Thornton to approve June Treasurer’s report, 2nd by Reed. Motion passes 7-0.

Building Inspector report: Did 1 final on a storage building and had 1 new permit pulled.

Police Report: Chief Ricker presented.

Resolution 7-11- 2016 to amend salary schedule of personnel handbook. Motion by Thornton to read by title only, 2nd by Reed. Motion passes 7-0. Mr. Wright complied. Motion by Thornton to approve resolution 7-11- 2016, 2nd by Reed. Motion passes 7-0.

Code Red: Code Red has quoted the city a price of $1250 to service the city. The mayor requested the council approve the contract contingent on Mr. Wright approving it. Motion by Dutton to approve $1250 to fund Code Red contingent on Mr. Wright reviewing the contract, 2nd by Thornton. Motion passes 7-0.

Lawnmower- We have $15,000 in the street budget to purchase a new mower. Just wanted council to be aware that we are getting bids to purchase a new one.

Mr. Reed brought to the council’s attention that a chicken farmer who is out of the city limits who may be wanting to expand into the city limits.

Mrs. Lindaberry a concerned citizen wanted to make sure that our police department had all the necessary equipment to serve and protect. Chief Ricker said we have bullet proof vests, cameras in 2 cars and our school resource officer has a body camera. He stated we are hoping to have body cameras for everyone soon and thanked her for her concern.

Motion to adjourn at 6:25 by Dutton, 2nd by Bryant. Motion passes 7-0.
