Minutes of the Greenland City Council December 11, 2017

Meeting called to order at 6pm. Those in attendance:  Bill Groom, Stephanie Sharp, Eric Bryant, Larry Forrester, Danny Dutton, Beckey  Center, Lisa Thornton (came in at 6:14), Bill Yoes , Pat Lindabury, Justin Reed, Chief Ricker, Danny Wright and various guests.  

Motion by Dutton, 2nd by Forrester to approve the November’s  council minutes. Motion passes 7-0.

Motion by Dutton,  2nd by Bryant  to approve the November’s  treasurer’s report. Motion passes 7-0.

Brenda Reynolds presented the planning commission report.  

Building inspector report:  1 building inspection.

Chief Ricker presented the court and police report.

Resolution 12-11-2017A  Fire Contract: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant  to read Resolution 12-11-2017A by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant to approve Resolution 12-11-2017A. Motion passes 8-0.

Resolution 12-11-2017B  Trash Contract: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Dutton to read Resolution 12-11-2017B by where as’ only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Dutton to approve Resolution 12-11-2017B. Motion passes 8-0.

Resolution 12-11-2017C  Sewer Contract: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Forrester  to read Resolution 12-11-2017AC by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Dutton to approve Resolution 12-11-2017C.  Motion passes 8-0.

Resolution 12-11-2017D  2018 Budget: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Forrester  to read Resolution 12-11-2017D by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Reed to approve Resolution 12-11-2017D. Motion passes 8-0.

Resolution 12-11-2017E  MHBF Contract: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Yoes to read Resolution 12-11-2017E by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Reed to approve Resolution 12-11-2017E. Motion passes 8-0.

Resolution 12-11-2017F  Planning Commission Appointment: Motion by Dutton, 2nd by Thornton to read Resolution 12-11-2017F by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read. Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Lindabury  to approve Resolution 12-11-2017F. Motion passes 8-0.

Part Time Personnel-  Motion by Reed, 2nd by Thornton to hire Patti Dutton as an as needed position for the front office. Motion passes 7-0.1 with Dutton abstaining.  

Citizen Comments: Question from citizen about light at 210 W. Wilson St

Motion to adjourn at 7:03 by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant. Motion passes 8-0.

Fmr Mayor Bill Groom

Our former Mayor, Bill Groom passed away unexpectedly just a few weeks after leaving office. Bill had his heart set on spending more time with his wife and family members after twelve years as our Mayor, and two years spent on the city council.
