September 12, 2022 Council Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm

Those in attendance Mayor Groom, Misty McCard, Jim Renfrow, Diane Reed, Bill Yoes, Rebecca Lawson.
Lisa Thornton, Chal Ragsdale, Jermaine Petty, and Larry Forrester- absent

Comments- none

Jim Renfrow motioned to approve August 2022 minutes, Diane Reed 2nd motion. Passed 5-0

Jim Renfrow motioned to approve August 2022 treasurer report, Bill Yoes 2nd motion. Passed 5-0

Court & Police Report-Chief Stout gave report.

Building Inspector Report- Troy Enochs gave report.

Planning Commission Report- Brenda Reynolds gave report.

Committee Report-none

Unfinished Business:

Update on Wastewater System Rehabilitation Project- Nick Batker with McClelland Engineering gave update on the Wastewater project. McClelland will start sending easement packets out.

New Business:

Central EMS-Steve Harrison spoke on behalf of Central EMS subsidy request. Steve mentioned how all cost have gone up to run the ambulance service.
Jim Renfrow motioned to pay the 4th quarter payment early to Central EMS, Diane Reed 2nd motion. Passed 5-0.

Announcements-

Citizen comments- Mrs. Cooksey commented on her concerns about how the M&S concrete company is not abiding by the hours of operation of 7am-5pm set by council. She also commented on the dust and noise being caused by the concrete business. Attorney Hogue and the council recommended issuing the M&S concrete owner a letter with all the business specifications along with the August minutes that council previously approved to see if the business owner will fix the current issue.

Jim Renfrow made a motion to adjourn, Diane Reed 2nd motion. Passed 5-0
