COVID-19 Updates April 6, 2020
COVID-19 INFORMATION UPDATES
City Offices:
Monday-Thursday 7am- 4pm
Friday 9am-2pm
Open during lunch from 12pm-1pm
The April Planning Commission and City Council Meetings are postponed until the regular May settings, the first and second Mondays of the month, respectively.
Recycling: The City of Greenland’s Recycling Center is temporarily closed and
service suspended until further notice to help limit the community spread of
COVID-19. Because the recycling program requires hand sorting of recyclables,
this service is being suspended to limit city workers’ potential exposure to the
virus, as well as to limit exposure to citizens. We appreciate Greenland citizens’
diligent use of the recycling center during normal times, and we hope this closure will be for a minimal amount of time, and that we can get back to normal times and full operation soon.
Parks: Taylor Park is closed, except for the walking trail. Due to potential spread
of the virus by continued use of playground equipment and the basketball court,
those facilities of the park are closed. Those using the walking trial should be
mindful of the federal and state guidelines for social distancing.
Community Center: The Community Center is closed until further notice.
It is hoped by taking these precautions, though they cause inconvenience, that
the spread of COVID-19 can be curbed in the short term, and that life for our
citizens can get back to normal as soon as possible. The city administration
thanks you all for your cooperation and diligence in following the necessary
guidelines including social distancing and regular hand washing.
