December 12, 2022 Council Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm

Those in attendance Mayor Groom, Misty McCard, Jim Renfrow, Diane Reed, Bill Yoes, Rebecca Lawson, Chal Ragsdale, and Jermaine Petty. Larry Forrester, Lisa Thornton- absent

Comments- none

Jim Renfrow motioned to approve November 2022 minutes, Rebecca Lawson 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Rebecca Lawson motioned to approve November 2022 treasurer report, Chal Ragsdale 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Court & Police Report-Chief Stout gave report. Chief Stout applied for a body camera grant for each officer. Shop with a cop is beginning this week.

Building Inspector Report- Troy Enochs gave report.

Planning Commission Report- Brenda Reynolds gave report.

Committee Report-none

Unfinished Business:

Update on Wastewater System Rehabilitation Project-Nick Batker gave update on sewer project.

New Business:

Resolution 12-12-22A-Fire Protection-Rebecca Lawson made a motion to read Resolution 12-12-22A by title only, Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passed 6-0
Rebecca Lawson made a motion to approve Resolution 12-12-22A, Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Resolution 12-12-22B- McClelland On-Call Engineering Contract-Rebecca Lawson to read Resolution 12-12-22B by title only, Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passed 6-0
Jim Renfrow motioned to approve Resolution 12-12-22B, Rebecca Lawson 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Stormwater MOU-Jim Renfrow motioned to authorize Mayor Groom to sign the MOU, Jermaine Petty 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Resolution 12-12-22C-2023 Budget-Diane Reed motioned to read Resolution 12-22-22C by title only,
Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passed 6-0.
Officer Katie Griffin gave presentation on new updated weapons for the Officers.
Jim Renfrow motioned to approve Resolution 12-12-22C, Bill Yoes 2nd motion. Passed 6-0

Announcements-

Citizen comments-Food pantry needs donations as well as pet food donation.
Citizen mentioned that M&S concrete is leaving gravel on the road when they leave the concrete plant.

Jim Renfrow made a motion to adjourn, Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passed 6-0
