Spring Clean Up – Self Service During May
GREENLAND SPRING CLEAN-UP – SELF SERVICE- DURING MAY
This year’s Greenland spring clean-up will begin May 1, 2020, and will continue daily until May 16, or longer if space is available for additional waste. A different process for the spring clean-up is necessary this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In past years, the spring clean -up was scheduled for one and one-half days, normally a Friday and Saturday, and the schedule could not always work for everyone.
This year the City will provide dumpsters located adjacent to the Recycling Center, 170 Letitia Street, for citizens’ use with self-disposal. The dumpsters will be available daily beginning May 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for Greenland citizens to dispose of materials. The City will not be able to provide staff assistance with unloading and disposing of the material into the dumpsters. Citizens will need to be prepared to offload the materials they bring for disposal into the dumpsters. It is hoped that this inconvenience will be offset by the convenience that a longer period for participation will provide.
You must be a Greenland resident to participate.
The following items will be accepted: Electronics, Appliances, Furniture, Lumber, Bagged or Boxed Trash. Loose trash will not be accepted.
The following will not be accepted: Paint and hazardous material, (which must be taken to Washington County Operations and Maintenance at 2615 Brink Drive, in Fayetteville, for disposal); No yard waste or Brush.
Please practice social distancing as you participate in the spring clean-up.
Thanks or your efforts keeping our city clean and safe.
