The View From The Mayor March 2018
Spring is here!
We are excited about finally acquiring 47 acres that borders the west fork of the White River, known to many locals as the Culver property. Our plan is to make it an outdoor park with a conservation easement on it to protect it from being developed. The possibilities of this project are phenomenal: public access to the
river, outdoor education for our school, recreational opportunities and a water trail are just a few things that can be enjoyed by our citizens.
We will have public input meetings to get your input on what you want. These will be held at our community center at a date to be determined very soon. We will be seeking names at that meeting for this jewel of a park. When you come to these meetings, you can check out our recently updated restrooms and entry way to our community center.
We have more improvements in the future planned as well. We have other projects that are in the pipeline that we are excited about. We are also excited to have partnered with the East Lab at the school to place a community announcement board outside the door of city hall. Residents can post fliers there for things happening in Greenland.
The recycling center continues to be a great benefit to our citizens. Our annual spring clean-up will be Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 th . We will post a flyer soon.
Things are definitely on the upswing in Greenland!
