Minutes of the Greenland City Council July 9, 2018

Meeting called to order at 6pm. Those in attendance: Mayor Groom, Stephanie Sharp, Eric Bryant, Larry Forrester, Danny Dutton, Beckey Center, Lisa Thornton, Bill Yoes, Pat Lindabury, Justin Reed, Chief Ricker, Danny Wright and various guests.

Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant to approve the June’s council minutes. Motion passes 7-0-1 with Reed abstaining.

Motion by Dutton, 2nd by Forrester to approve the June 25, 2018 special meeting council minutes.

Motion passes 6-0-2 with Thornton and Center abstaining.

Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Dutton to approve the June’s treasurer's report. After questions by Thornton on several line items that were over budget or close to being over, motion passed 8-0.

Brenda Reynolds presented the planning commission report.
No building inspector activity.

Chief Ricker presented the court and police report.
Ordinance #329 Alcohol Sales: Second reading: Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant to place ordinance #329 on second reading by title only. Motion passes 8-0. Mr. Wright read it.

Motion by Thornton, 2nd by Bryant to approve the second reading of ordinance #329. Motion passes 8-0.

Announcements: Council members who want to run in the general election in the fall have been given a packet.

Citizens comments: Lisa Thornton asked if the mayor had gotten any more information on the bridge on Letitia St. The mayor said he could not get the supervisor to return his calls. Mr. Horn stated he could make that happen and also suggested a way in which the county would help fix the road.

Motion to adjourn ay 6:36 by Bryant, 2nd by Thornton. Motion passes 8-0.
