July 12, 2021 Greenland City Council Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm

Those in attendance Mayor Groom, Misty McCard, Larry Forrester, Jim Renfrow, Chalon Ragdale, Bill Yoes, Justin Reed, Rebecca Lawson, Diane Reed, Attorney David Hogue and various guests.  Lisa Thornton absent. 

Comments-none

Diane Reed motioned to approve June minutes, Bill Yoes 2nd motion. Passes 5-0

Rebecca Lawson motioned to approve June treasurer report, Larry Forrester 2nd motion. Passes 6-0

Court & Police Report- Chief gave report. Discussion on SRO information about the Greenland School starting there own Police Department. 

Building Inspector Report-Troy Enochs gave report. Discussion regarding the meeting with the BBQ place and the Health Department regarding the new building being placed at the location. 

Planning Commission Report- Brenda Reynolds gave report. Carole Jones discussed the building permit fees.

Committee Report- none

Ordinance 353- Justin Reed motioned to read Ordinance 353 on the 1st reading by title only, Rebecca Lawson 2nd motion. Passes 7-0

Resolution for MOU with ANRC- tabled for August meeting.

Resolution for Sewer Project Engineer- Jim Renfrow motioned to read Resolution 07-12-2021, Rebecca Lawson 2nd motion. Passes 7-0 

Rebecca Lawson motioned to approve Resolution 07-12-2021, Jim Renfrow 2nd motion. Passes 7-0

Rebecca Lawson motioned to adjourn, Justin Reed 2nd motion. Passes

Fmr Mayor Bill Groom

Our former Mayor, Bill Groom passed away unexpectedly just a few weeks after leaving office. Bill had his heart set on spending more time with his wife and family members after twelve years as our Mayor, and two years spent on the city council.
